Hi all 👋
Welcome to this edition of Finscale’s Newsletter!
Here is the latest guest on Finscale for 2024 : Nawel Boutarouk, the founder of Olympes. A woman driven by extraordinary passion, Nawel is on a mission to address the complex and often overlooked issue of women’s relationship with money.
In this episode, we explore the challenges women face in managing their personal finances and discuss practical solutions to overcome them. From societal stereotypes and financial biases to the unique needs women have when it comes to saving and investing, the conversation sheds light on barriers that require urgent attention.
We also delve into the role of neuroscience in understanding financial risk, highlighting general trends in how men and women may perceive risks differently. By using neuroscience, financial education can be tailored to empower women and transform their cautious approach into a strategic advantage - one that fosters confidence and Long Term success.
Nawel shares her journey and the motivations behind founding Olympes, a start-up created to revolutionise women’s access to financial education and investment. She discusses the progress made so far, the strategic focus on education as a foundation for investment and Olympes' role in addressing those challenges.
The discussion also touches on Olympes’ partnership with Generali, detailing its origins and the impact it has on empowering Generali’s female employees. We, then, explore the concept of “matrimoine”, a groundbreaking approach to redefining women’s financial legacy through inclusivity and empowerment.
This episode resonates with me on a personal level. Like many women, I grew up with little financial literacy, as discussing money was considered impolite in my family. Although my studies in finance taught me core concepts and practical skills, I rarely reflected on my own relationship with money, an important step I only began to take later in life.
Tackling this vast and multifaceted subject is not just a professional journey, but a deeply personal one. It holds immense potential to create meaningful change for women, helping them take control of their financial futures and redefine their legacies.
